How to align AI imagery with your brand's visual identity

Keep colour, lighting, composition and brand details coherent across images and videos made with different tools.

How to align AI imagery with your brand's visual identity

Several beautiful images do not automatically form a visual identity. If colours, angles and mood change in every output, viewers may not recognise them as one brand. Define the visual rules before generating a large collection.

Build a reference sheet

Keep the original logo, approved colours, permitted fonts and image examples together. Adobe's asset-management guidance describes shared collections for logos, colours, fonts and templates. The aim is to avoid reopening basic decisions every time.

Write three precise rules, such as “soft light from the left”, “a simple background with room for a title” and “no change to the product shape”. These are more useful for a product-imagery campaign than a long list of vague adjectives.

Separate fixed and variable elements

The logo, primary colour, product features and visual tone may be fixed. Camera angle, arrangement or each image's narrative can vary. In a fashion lookbook, shared lighting and surroundings can connect different garment poses without making every photograph a copy.

Style references guide appearance; structure references help organise space. Neither removes the need for human review. Compare lettering, logos and product shapes with the originals rather than approving them from the overall impression alone.

Keep approval simple and explicit

  • Choose one sample and record why it is approved.
  • Record the version and date of that reference.
  • Identify changed items in each review round.
  • Inspect the final result at publishing size and on mobile.

For a hypothetical homeware brand using olive green, any green-looking image is not necessarily on brand. Lighting can change its appearance. The guide to lighting and materials helps explain the issue accurately. Keep the approved reference beside the export.

Connect identity to publishing

Maintain an approved example for each format in the content calendar. For motion, also define transition speed, text size and ending behaviour. A recurring character needs an additional character consistency guide.

For a Visionairt brand-content consultation, prepare the logo, earlier examples and a list of elements that must not change. Start with a small collection; once its visual language is approved, extending the work becomes easier to control.
